Play Therapy

Gloria Robbins, LCSW BCD has been a private practitioner in The Hudson Valley for the past forty years. She has presented and conducted workshops and trained other therapists, in Europe, South America, Israel and The Hudson Valley. She was trained in Bio-energetics, Psychodrama, Rhythm Integration, Play Therapy and Jungian Analysis. She has created and leads “The Women’s Group” for over thirty five years.

She will present her teaching video “Ego In Motion”, showing four pre-school children in various stages of ego development.  The viewer observes the presenting problem, interventions by the therapist, and the changes that occur over time.  The less developed ego demands a more passive presence by the therapist, in order to enhance and strengthen the ego.  The more developed ego demands more interaction between the therapist and child in the working through of unresolved conflicts.  The principles of play therapy will be discussed during the viewing and can be generalized to treatment with children of all ages, adolescents and adults.

Finding the Fertility in Infertility

Helen Adrienne, Licensed Certified Social Worker and certified hypnotherapist, specializes in infertility counseling, couples counseling for infertility, mind/body stress reduction for infertility and gynecological and reproductive issues.

Helen's approach is based on the mind-body connection involving mental, physical and spiritual well-being. She believes that the mind influences the body and the body influences the mind. Her counseling approach and thought processes combine psychological techniques with a deep clinical and spiritual understanding of the mind, heart and body. This understanding empowers her to help her clients in a targeted way to reduce mind/body stress.

Her treatment model aims to enter the mind-body unity so you can respond rather than react to challenges, whether for infertility or anything else. This will enhance self-esteem, build confidence, create new behaviors, coping mechanisms and thought processes leading to major breakthroughs.

Helen has helped hundreds of people reach their goals and navigate the emotional component of complex medical issues, particularly infertility counseling, throughout her psychotherapy and counseling career that began in 1979. She practices inNew York CityNew York and Bergen CountyNew Jersey and draws patients from the entire NY metropolitan area.

"Web Site Development to Promote Your Private Practice"
Michael Greene, LCSW

A website is an important promotional tool. More and more potential clients are locating therapists on the Internet. But many clinicians hesitate to develop a website, not knowing what to do and how to get started. Others who already have a website don't know how to draw traffic to their website or how to use their website to draw new clients into the office. In fact, building a basic, simple and effective promotional website isn't difficult, and can be done with a moderate investment of time and money and minimal technical expertise.

In this meeting, clinical social worker and veteran web developer Michael Greene will provide guidance about how to build and maintain a website, how to draw potential clients to your website, and how to integrate your website into your online and "off-line" marketing strategies, as well as fielding questions from the audience.

Prior to becoming a licensed clinical social worker Michael Greene's first career of 20 years in the technology industry included working on Internet projects in the corporate environment and for several non profit organizations that he co-founded. In the past five years Michael has worked as a social worker serving families of children with Aspergers and Autism as part of a multi-purpose private group in NJ, and at a community based clinic in Queens. Michael is starting his own private practice in Great Neck, and is using the Internet as a key practice building tool. Check out Michael's own website at michaelgreene.info.
